New Zealand Greenshell mussels are unique to New Zealands coastal waters and are harvested throughout the year from some of the cleanest waters in the world.Our mussels are processed directly after harvest using modern plant and technology. Mussels are grown, harvested, transported, processed and labelled in accordance with the USFDA National Shellfish Sanitation Programme (NSSP). These systems are verified by the NZFSA and USFDA. Each mussel has been lightly blanched, and the plump meat removed and individually quick-frozen and glazed to seal in its unique flavour.Although the average cost per kg wholesale may be slightly higher for New Zealand GreenShell mussels than Blue Mussels, the average cost per portion is lower due to the larger mussel size.Product is available in 10 x 1kg bags or in 14kg bulk outers.
